Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight Pillow
Let’s face it, you don’t absolutely need a pillow to sleep when you’re backpacking. You can always just ball up a jacket or lie your head on your arms. For many, a pillow is not worth the extra weight, so they make do without one. Not having a pillow is definitely lighter, but not everyone wants to go that option. To many, a pillow is either a must, or may just be one of their luxury items. So, if you do plan to take one, you don’t have to weigh yourself down. The Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight inflatable pillow is the perfect piece of backpacking and hiking gear to help you get a great night’s sleep, while only adding a couple of ounces to your pack.

This ultralight pillow is made from durable 20 denier laminated polyester material with a soft fabric covering. The regular size is 14.2 X 10.2 X 4.7 inches and weighs only 2.1 ounces and the large size is 17.3 X 12.6 X 5.5 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces. The Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight inflatable pillow is extremely compact when rolled up and packed into its stuff sack, measuring only 2 X 3 inches. The scalloped design on the bottom edge centers the pillow around your shoulder, providing support whether you are sleeping on your back or your side.

This pillow has a one-way inflation valve which allows air in but won’t let air out when you inhale for another breath. A button on the inside of the inlet valve can be depressed to allow small bursts of air out so you can adjust the firmness as you desire. The deflation valve tab is pulled to let the air out quickly to pack up. The valves lay almost flush with the back of the pillow, allowing it to lay flat. With a price around $35, this is an amazing bargain for this great piece of ultralight backpacking equipment.
